Burns Rental Co

These terms explain how Burns Credit and the Burns Rental Co. referral program work. They are written in plain language and describe exactly what our system does.

What you earn

When someone you refer books with us and their event goes ahead, you earn $20 in Burns Credit.

A referral is recorded when the person you referred uses your referral link, your referral code, or a QR code from an event we supplied. There is currently no minimum booking amount for a referral to qualify.

Pending credit and available credit

A referral reward becomes PENDING as soon as the booking you referred is confirmed.

Pending credit is not spendable. It is shown separately in your wallet, and it cannot be applied to an order. A promise is not money until the event happens.

Pending credit becomes AVAILABLE after the referred event has taken place and the order is completed. At that point it moves into your spendable balance and can be used on a future order.

If the referred booking is cancelled before the event, the pending reward is voided. Nothing spendable is taken away from you, because pending credit was never spendable.

What Burns Credit is, and is not

Burns Credit has NO CASH VALUE. It cannot be cashed out, withdrawn, or exchanged for money.

Burns Credit is not transferable. It belongs to the person who earned it and cannot be moved to another customer.

Burns Credit does not expire under the current program.

What Burns Credit cannot pay for

Burns Credit can be applied to your rental order.

It cannot be applied to damage charges, replacement charges, late fees, cleaning penalties, or any similar charge raised after your event. Those are settled separately, by card or another payment method.

Rules that keep the program fair

You cannot refer yourself. A booking you make cannot earn you a referral reward.

Each referred booking can reward only one referrer. If more than one referral could apply, the first recorded attribution is the one that counts.

Referrals that are duplicated, fabricated, or made in bad faith do not qualify, and we may reverse a reward that was issued on that basis.

We do not guess who referred you from a name typed into a box. Attribution comes from your referral link, your referral code, or an event QR code, so it is exact rather than approximate. If you believe a referral was missed, contact us and we will review it.

Cancellations and refunds

If an order that used Burns Credit is cancelled or refunded, any eligible Burns Credit that was applied is restored to your wallet.

Burns Credit is always returned as Burns Credit. It is never refunded as cash, because it was never cash.

Money you paid by card is refunded to the card, under the cancellation terms of your rental agreement.

Changes to the program

We may change or end this program in the future. Changes apply going forward only.

Credit you have already earned and that is available in your wallet will not be silently removed if the program changes.
